Year 1: Foundations in Law and Business Entities

Year one of the curriculum is designed to introduce students to the basics of the legal system, contract law, corporate law, legal research and writing, and other foundational topics. The courses this year also delve into specific types of business entities, partnership and agency law, securities law, employment law, and intellectual property rights. By the end of the first year, students will have a strong understanding of the essential elements of corporate law and be equipped to move onto more advanced topics.

Year 2: Advanced Corporate Law and Securities

In the second year, students will go deeper into the study of corporation law, business transactions law, and corporate finance law. This year also includes modules on corporate governance, international business law, corporate tax law, bankruptcy and insolvency law, and cyber law and information security. The objective for this year is to explore in greater depth the complexities of corporate law and securities, preparing students for specialized topics in the following years.

Year 3: Specialized Topics in Corporate Law

Year three exposes students to specialized areas of corporate law. The curriculum includes modules on antitrust law, venture capital and private equity law, fintech and blockchain regulation, environmental law for corporations, the law of commercial transactions, real estate and property law for corporations, insurance law for corporations, and pension and benefits law. This year is designed to help students start focusing on particular areas of interest in corporate law.

Year 4: Contemporary Issues in Corporate Law

The final year of the curriculum addresses contemporary and emerging issues in corporate law. The courses this year include arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, corporate crimes and fraud, regulatory compliance and ethics, international corporate and business strategy, trade secrets law, e-commerce law, privacy and data protection law, law of financial institutions, health and safety law, immigration law for corporations, consumer protection law, and corporate social responsibility and ethics. This year is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to navigate the rapidly evolving field of corporate law.
