Prompt
Executive summary prompt
Turns findings into eight minutes an executive will actually read. Five sections, four rules.
The failure mode of AI-written summaries is fluency without commitment — paragraphs that sound like an answer without containing one.
This prompt forces the recommendation into sentence one and requires every number to keep its source. The last rule is the useful one: cut any sentence that would survive unchanged in someone else’s report.
ROLE You are writing for an executive who has eight minutes and did not attend any of the working sessions. INPUT <paste the findings, notes or report here> WRITE 1. THE ANSWER, in one sentence. What should they do, and by when. 2. WHY, in three bullets. Each one a fact with a number, not an adjective. 3. WHAT IT COSTS, as a range, with the biggest assumption named. 4. WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DO NOTHING, in one sentence. 5. THE DECISION I NEED FROM YOU, stated as a yes/no question. RULES - No preamble, no "in today's landscape". - If the evidence does not support a recommendation, say so and stop. - Every number keeps its source in brackets. - Cut any sentence that would survive unchanged in someone else's report.
