Privacy Notice

What this site collects, why, and how to get it removed — in plain English.

No dark patterns, no data resale, no twelve-thousand-word policy. Here is the whole picture.

What gets collected

  • An account stores your email address, display name, hashed password, verification and access status, and sign-in security records. Using member features can also save lesson progress, bookmarked resources, goals, quiz results, activity and achievements, and any Career OS details you choose to provide, such as your role, target role, skills, salary information, certificates and focus areas. Member names and email addresses can also appear in DWKD’s private contact-management records.
  • The Contact page opens an email to Kenny; writing in shares whatever you choose to send. The separate Government & Public Sector inquiry form saves your name, organization, organization type, contact details, opportunity type, message, and any optional phone or solicitation information you provide in this WordPress site. It also creates a contact record or links the inquiry to an existing one, and sends an email notification to Kenny so he can respond.
  • Bookings at /book/ use DWKD’s own booking form. The site saves your name, email address, chosen time, any note you provide, and a meeting link. These details are used to arrange the call and send calendar-invitation emails to you and Kenny. The meeting link opens Jitsi Meet, a separate video-call service.
  • The assistant in the corner is scripted, not AI — its conversation lives only in your own browser (localStorage) and is never sent to a server.
  • Standard site statistics run through WordPress.com’s Jetpack. Separately, if you accept optional analytics, Google Analytics measures public page visits and confirmed booking or inquiry event types. The Google tag receives public page addresses without query strings or fragments, a referring-site origin where available, and browser/device information. DWKD does not send your form entries, email address, account identity, or lesson work to Google Analytics. Signed-in, private-account, search, and token-bearing visits are excluded. Academy checkout is not currently enabled. Any future checkout will identify the payment provider and explain its data handling before you enter payment information.

How it is used

Email is used to verify your account, send sign-in links, reset passwords, respond to booking and inquiry requests, deliver what you bought, and — only if you subscribed — send new essays. Verified members can also receive a weekly activity note, which includes a link to stop those notes. Account and booking messages are separate from that weekly-note subscription and do not include its unsubscribe link. Nothing is sold, rented, or traded to anyone.

Cookies

Signing in uses WordPress authentication cookies, and WordPress.com’s Jetpack provides existing site statistics. Optional Google Analytics loads only after you choose Accept analytics. Rejecting it leaves the Google tag off. Your choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days; you can change it through Analytics preferences on public pages. Rejecting after acceptance stops further Google collection and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals keep optional Google Analytics off. Advertising storage, advertising personalization, and Google signals are disabled. This preference controls DWKD’s optional Google Analytics integration; it does not change WordPress authentication or Jetpack’s separate statistics service.

Your data, your call

To request a copy, correction or deletion of your information, email kenny@dowhatkennydoes.com. We will confirm control of the relevant email or account before disclosing or removing records. We review the account, booking, inquiry and other records relevant to your request, then explain what was changed or removed and any information that must be retained and why. Removing a contact record alone does not delete an account, bookings or copies held by service providers. Backup and provider copies may follow separate retention processes.

Our retention review considers continued service, support and recordkeeping needs. Retention depends on the kind of record, the service involved and any applicable obligations; you can ask about the information held for your account or inquiry using the address above. Privacy requests and retention decisions require review rather than automatic deletion of every record at once.
